I officially flew out of Texas on Saturday morning to become a missionary for a year. The time has finally come to begin this journey.
For the past three days, I’ve been exploring Washington, D.C. with a few squad mates. We’ve seen every possible monument, memorial, and museum all the while trying to stay warm in the 30* weather with clothes intended for summer. Many, many thanks to Jim and Gerain who hosted us, cooked us delicious food, and even gave us tours of the city. You guys have been incredible.

This afternoon I met up with the entire O-Squad at a hotel in D.C. We’re here until Friday to receive last-minute briefing, training, and commissioning before we fly to Honduras. Rumor has it that our whole squad will be working together this month, but I’ll confirm that when I get details in a few days.
Also, our squad is participating in a “screen fast” until Friday, which means I won’t access the Internet for the next 48 hours (at least). Before I sign off, there’s one important piece of news I need to announce.
Team R.O.A.R. has experienced our second team change. Our team is receiving two new members: Emma Misco and Chelsea Gottman. I don’t know too much about these ladies other than they’re awesome and I’m excited to have them on the team. I will admit that it’s a little overwhelming to receive this kind of news just days before we leave the country, but I know the Lord is up to something good here. Please pray for Team R.O.A.R. as we make this transition. A few other teams were changed today too, so please keep them in your prayers. Click on Emma’s and Chelsea’s names to visit their blogs.

Alright friends, that’s all for now. Much love from D.C.!
