That's how much money I have left to fundraise within the next week.

On July 1 we are all supposed to be fully funded if we want to stay on the World Race to the end.

Before this deadline, I have paid most of my way through the Race. Out of my own pocket. I wanted to show God that I was serious about this trip. That I wanted to go for Him and Him alone. That I was willing to give up my graduate school/"life after the Race" money to do so.

I also think a small part of it had to do with the fact that: I really dislike fundraising.

A couple months ago I decided that for this next deadline (to be fully funded – $15,500) I would try fundraising a bit, and whatever I didn't raise I would pay for out of the rest of my savings.

Being a week away from our deadline and still needing such a large amount of money, a couple of my friends and I decided to fast and pray today for the cause.

During our last prayer session this evening, I heard the Lord telling me: "Don't touch your wallet when it comes to your funds."

"Um, excuse me? Are you serious? Why? I have the money… it's sitting right there in my nice, convenient Wells Fargo account!"

"Because that puts no trust in ME Emily, that's why. Stop being so self-sufficient." I sensed His response being.

After feeling this and mentioning it to the group I was praying with, my girl Savannah smiled at me and said, "That's funny, because that's exactly what I was going to pray for you about."

Bam. Slap in the face confirmation that this is the step I need to take.

So, here I am, taking that leap and asking for your help.

Will you join with me in this process?

Your prayers or funds or both are welcome here!

Help me make it to Africa, China, and the Philippines. 🙂
