Today I am thankful that the bible is a living book. I can read the same thing each day, but it resonates with me in a different way. It speaks to me based on what I need to learn or hear that day. The other day in worship we complied a list of all the attributes/names of God. It was awesome to be reminded of how good and big God is, here is the list.

He is Faithful. He loves us.

This Almighty, Powerful, Grand Jehovah.

The Lover of our souls.

Gracious, Merciful, Healer – the Great Physician.

Abba-Daddy, Yahweh.

Our Maker and Creator. He Prepares our way.

The Lord our Strength, our Very Present Help in Time of trouble, is The Victor, our Joy, our Great Shepherd, our High Priest.

Never leaves us nor forsakes Us.

Jehovah Nissi.

Our Friend, our Hope, our Provider, our Conquerer. You have Overcome the World.

Blessed Saviour, Redeemer, Restorer, and our Rest.

our Leader, Cheerleader, Teacher, You are Compassionate. And Passionate about us.

Gentle and Mighty. Marvelous Light. With us. Within Us. And Beyond us. Magnifier.

God is just so good. I am blown away that the creator of the universe wants to know me! He speaks to me and cares about me! He loves me! It’s the coolest thing ever. I am amazed by God and the love He has for me!

One thing I love about being overseas is that each day is different. I find myself in new situations each day and uncomfortable situations. Walking up to a monk and having an hour conversation is intimidating. What should I say? But, God is with me. He is in the conversation and will direct it as He wishes. I am just asked to show up and then let God work through me. I get to walk out in faith every day, knowing that God will direct me. In America, I didn’t feel this way because most of the places and conversations I found myself in were not foreign. I surrounded myself with comfort and worked as a teacher, which I am fully capable to do. What if we all stepped out on a limb? What will you do today that requires God to go with you? Talk to your neighbor who’s watering the grass. Stop and say hello to the mailman. Share God’s love with people and see where it takes you. Two things I always wanted to do but never did were: give coffee to a toll booth lady and give a stranger a ride home. I always thought about getting an extra coffee in the morning at McDonalds and giving it away on my way to work. I always thought about stopping and giving a woman a ride home, when I see her walking down the street with groceries. What if we started acting on our thoughts? Where would it take us?

My challenge to you is to step out on a limb. Step out and leave a comment about how it went. If anything it will teach you about yourself or maybe you’ll make a new friend!
