Hello there, thanks for finding me on the internet. Here is a little bit about me in case you were dying to know.

I decided to put bullet points because it seemed like the easiest way to make a coherent thought

  • my name is Emily McIver (pronounced “mick-eye-ver”)
  • I am 21 years old
  • I graduated from Texas Tech in May 2016 with a degree in elementary education with a specialization in teaching English as a second language
  • I have lived in west Texas my whole life
  • I have a mom and dad who are the most gracious/kind/patient/hilarious/sacrificial/loving parents
  • My sister (Grace) is 10. She is sensitive, kind-hearted, and goofy. My parents say she’s a lot like me so I think she’s going to turn out just fine
  • My brother (Moses) is 7. He is competitive, hilarious, and smart. Like most little boys he loves cuddles and anything sports related.
  • I’ve never blogged before, so this will be interesting
  • I like to laugh and I’m really good at finding humor in most situations
  • If the words “Myers/Briggs” mean anything to you- I’m an E/INFJ (my mind has trouble deciding on if it’s introverted or extroverted)
  • My love languages include- sunsets/sunrises, good music, words of affirmation, hand written letters, quality time, naps, dogs, babies, coffee, and pizza

Most importantly I am a daughter of God. Without him I am dead, useless, empty, and my life doesn’t have a point. But because of his great love for me (and you!) I am alive in Christ, useful, full of joy and my life has a beautiful purpose. I am so excited to continue to trust in his goodness throughout these next months. However, I don’t want this whole thing to be about me, I want it to be about God. I want his love to be displayed to me and through me. My greatest hope is that the love of God will be displayed in all that I do. So stick around if you’d like. Either way I’m glad your here!
