When the reality of leaving home for 11 months to go to Dominican Republic, Haiti,Costa Rica, Nicaragua,Malaysia, Philippines,Guatemala, Thailand, Swaziland, Bostwana & South Africa sank in so did so many concerns of how this group of strangers would ever become my friends & family for 11 months you’re not sure who you will meet, if you will get along, if your personalities will clash… there are so many concerns that have gone through my mind. Will we be all be the same, will they like me? Will I like them? Will it all work out? Am i spriritually ready? Am i Emotionally ready? So as these questions ran through my mind I woke up one Saturday morning and began to read the book of acts as I read through God spoke to me and made me understand that although we are all different as individuals, in our walks in life, and in our spiritual journey we all have a gift and each of us a different gift.
As I continued to read I began to understand that God has put a calling not only on my heart but he is asking others to do the same to leave their homes, their beds, and their comfort zone just as he has called me, I am not the only one I said to myself I’m sure others are as scared and nervous and doubtful as I am, but in Gods living word he promises us that those who fallow his voice will be protected he says to go out and spread the word to all of the nations and that where he leads he will also fallow… So many times I worry and second guess am I really ready for this but in doing that I doubtful of Gods direction… I know that through this journey God will allow each of us within my team to be one another support system and no matter where we go there will always be 2 sets up foot prints and on the days there’s only one set God will carry us! Here’s to a journey of 11 months of 11 countries, helping the sick, spreading love and giving life, a journey that will change the REST OF OUR LIFE!
P.S
I look forward to meeting you 🙂
God says:
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. – Romans 12:6-8
