This month, my team and I are the unsung heroes team here in Botswana. That means that instead of partnering with a ministry for the month we travel around the country and find new ministries and churches for Adventures In Missions to partner with in the future. We have stayed in the capital city, Gaborone, for 2 1/2 weeks. While we were there we met some amazing people and ministries.
One of the ministries we met with is called Adopt a Person. This organization is under the church Word of Christ Ministries. Adopt a Person (AAP) works in Gaborone as well as 7 surrounding villages. Their mission and purpose is to help orphaned children. Right now they have 2300 kids in their program. They make sure the children have food, warm clothes for the winter, an education, a place to live, and they provide for their emotional needs as well. Through donations and support they are able to provide the basic needs of these children. They also bring over a hundred children to church every Sunday.
This organization does so much for their community. Because of them, the children are loved and cared for. This organization could use prayer for funds and resources as well as volunteers. Please pray that through AAP these children can experience the love God has for them and that the children will come to know Him as not only their Savior, but also as their Father.
