It is official. I am FULLY FUNDED for my World Race Gap Year!
It is so crazy that I am already to this point in my journey. Thinking back on things, I decided to go on the race almost a year ago in August. So many times over the past year I thought I could easily back out, change my mind, get a normal person job… So many times people will ask, “why are you going to leave for so long?” (Which is completely understandable, considering my life here in the U.S. with my family and friends is amazing and nearly close to perfect) But God really does have other plans for me. He has proven it! Every time a doubt passed through my mind, God quickly turned my thoughts around again, back to Him and his people that He is calling me to GO and LOVE. Whether through a conversation with someone, a sense of peace after praying and praying, a sermon that hit home for me, even a random song that would come on and speak just the right words to give me courage.. I just know He is still calling me to go and serve. He is begging me and telling me to take this chance and trust Him, so I will.
With all of that being said, I am SO grateful and blessed to have all of the supporters that I do have. When I committed to this trip months ago, I can honestly say I had no clue how I would get that much money. But it all came… in abundance. Here I am with all $12, 491… I guess God really does want me to go.
I am blessed with AMAZING family and friends who have donated, helped me raise money, and most importantly prayed for my journey. I am blessed to live for an even more AMAZING God who put me on the perfect path to have a good job lined up right out of college to help me make the rest of the money I needed! It was not an easy process, (watching all those pay checks disappear as soon as I got them.. etc..) but God got me through it all and never left my side. Romans 8:28 was no joke.
