“When do you leave?!”——  “I leave in August!”

“I’m so excited for you!” ——- “Thank you! I’m pumped!”

“Aren’t you scared?”  —– “Maybe a little, but I serve a God who is greater than my fears”

“That will be a great experience!”—— Yes, I’m excited!”

“HOW COOL!!” —— “YOU should do it!”

Hey y’all I just wanted to give you a small update on what’s happening in my life right now while I am preparing for this journey.

If you have talked to me at all about the race, you’ve probably said something along these lines, and in response, I have probably said something back to you like on the right of the page. These are common things that are said to me when someone finds out I am going on the World Race. But how do I really feel?

Life as a World Racer while you’re still in the states and anticipating launch date is a roller coaster of a ride. It goes something like: excitedpumpednervousscaredreadyexpectantexcitedreadynotgoingexcited–did you get all that? And for me, some days I feel all of these emotions in one day.

The day I found out I was leaving, I was babysitting kiddos at my church and was actually hunkered down in a nursing room because there were tornado sirens going off and one not far from where we were. Beside the room I was in, 25 3-year-olds were singing “Jesus Loves Me” because their teachers were trying to keep them calm and not afraid.

Often times, when I start to feel uneasy about this trip, my mind goes back to where it all started. I was in a room with people I knew, yet I felt scared for my safety, for my towns safety, and for the lives of the people who did have shelter that day. Being reminded that Jesus loves us is all we need sometimes to go back in a state of obedience to God’s will and not our own.

So, if you’re wanting a real list of things my mind has told me about the race here’s a few

1. I get to travel and love on people– I can’t wait!!

2. WAIT, am I for real going to do this?

3. I’m definitely not going, I’m calling my mom and mobilizer right now and dropping.

4. OH MY GOSH I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET MY SQUAD

5. I’m going to starve for 11 months

6. Girls gain weight on the race? Grrrreeeeat

7. What if someone kidnaps me in my tent at night?!!

8. I’m selling everything in my closet, I don’t need all this!

9. I need retail therapy

10. How many Cliff bars can I take in my pack?

11. I am good enough, I am worthy, I am called to this specific route.

Thank you to everyone who has joined me on the mission financially. I’m a firm believer that God is going to use you in those 11 months in the mission field where you are, just as he is is going to use me where I am.

Peace&Blessings
