Hey all! My name is Emily Honey (oh yeah, I’ve heard all the jokes ha), and I’m from Conway, Arkansas! I am in my final few months at the University of Central Arkansas. I’m getting my bachelors of science degree in psychology with a minor in addiction studies. When I decided to get a psych degree I thought I wanted to go into counseling, but God had something better in mind.

Human behavior has always interested me but it was not until I started going on mission trips did I fully get that everyone really is different. Sounds silly, right? But growing up in a middle of rice field (no really, I did) you really do not recognize different human behavior when you are around family all the time. Being in the mission field has taught me love for all kinds, grace when we least deserve it, and hope for all nations, and has absolutely wrecked me at the same time.

Other hobbies of mine  I guess would be that I love to be outside! Running is my thing, but I enjoy all things outside: the lake, hiking, biking (I’m learning to enjoy this more), riding horses, be with friends and the fam. I love love love spontaneous adventures that I get to do with friends.

For several years I have a passion for other countries and other cultures I just didn’t understand why. Just recently did I learn that was more than a passion, that was my CALLING. Even more recent did I start to embrace this calling on my life. I know that as long as I am willing to GO, God will provide the steps to do so.

I absolutely cannot wait to be in the mission field during these 11 months, but for now, my field is in Conway, Arkansas to love on and serve the people in my community.

Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives. -Titus 3:14
