Home. What is home? Where is home? What do I call home?

Looking back at the past year, I realized that I did not live in the same place for more then 2 months and that trend is going to continue for the most of this year also. Only spending about a month in each place. Starting last January, I pretty much played musical houses. Picking up all my belongings and moving to the next place. In the dictionary, the first definition of home is the place where a person, family, or household lives. According to this definition, I have had over 12 homes this past year alone spending anywhere from a couple of days to two months in one place. For the record, I have considered each of these places that I have lived a home to me.

The next definition of home is that of a family group or a group that lives together. I have lived with many people over the past year and I would consider them all my family in some way. On the race, I may not have one place where I have been living but God has given me five sisters to live with for 11 months. We have become extremely close and although we may fight once in a while or get on each others nerves, we are growing closer together, building each other up along the way. I am so blessed to be with these five lovely ladies that have been placed on my team.

But the more I think of it, it doesn’t matter where I am, where I live, or who I am with. As long as I dwell in the house of the Lord. Psalm 27:4 says, “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.”

I may be away from the home I grew up in and away from my immediate family but God is always with me and my home is where I am.
This is my team after we all got our hair braided.
