Thank you to everyone who donated money towards the youth retreat. The Lord provided abundantly and we had well over $500 which is what we budgeted for 30 youth. Through out the week we prayed that He would provide so we can take all the youth on the retreat. As of Thursday night, we only had about $150. On Friday, my team checked their e-mail and found out that there were several donations made and when we added it all together it was way more then we were asking for in which case we all leaped for joy and we were able to bring all the youth on the retreat with us.

We were able to tell all the youth that they were able to come and they all were really excited. Most would not of been able to come because they did not have the $5 that we were asking of them to help cover the cost of the retreat. After we told them that they could all come, we immediately had more youth say they were going to come on the retreat.

Saturday morning came, our youth started to arrive at before 8:00 am. We had hired two drivers that had 15 passenger vans to drive us for the weekend. We loaded the vans up at about 8:30. Each van had 24 people in them giving us a total of 48 people in all. This was way more then we planned for so we had to be creative. My team all decided that we should bring our tents in case we needed extra rooms for the youth and we also all brought our sleeping pads so we could stick an extra girl in our rooms and we could sleep on the floor if needed.

We arrived at the guest house a little before 11:00 and we divided people into rooms in which we managed to get everyone in a room except for 3 people who we were able to sent up a couple of tents for. Everyone brought a lunch which we ate at the guest house. After lunch we went to the beach. The youth all enjoyed going to the beach and hanging out with each other.

Once we were done at the beach, we went back to the guest house, changed into some dry cloths and then we came together and had a time a worship. We gave testimonies and told the group of God’s faithfulness in providing. Vuthy’s dream of having a retreat all started out of faith. He had all of $15 to his name and yet he wanted to plan a retreat for all of the youth in his village. We helped Vuthy plan for the retreat and estimated that it was going to cost around $500 (which we did not have until Friday). I had great joy when we were able to tell the youth that people that did not even know them wanted them to go on this retreat.
 
On Sunday, we took the youth to the zoo where we were able to see lots of birds, monkeys, and other random animals.  After the zoo, we went to a river (or a water fall down according to Vuthy) where some of the youth swam but most just bought snacks and ate them.  The youth enjoyed the entire weekend and were so grateful that God provided for them all to go.
 

What was even more amazing is the fact that we handed Vuthy $465 and he only spent $464 for the weekend. We were able to everything that we had planned even with the extra 18 people that joined us for the weekend (we had 48 total and we planned for 30).  God made sure we had enough money to send all the youth on the retreat and still have some left over to bless the ministry. I love seeing God’s faithfulness and provision time and time again. GOD IS SO GOOD!

My time in Vuthy’s village has come to an end, but I know that God will still be in this village even as I depart. Pray that God will continue to put people in this village that will help them grow in their faith. Pray that this young generation will grow in the love of Christ and be raised up to be leaders of this village.
