We
made it to Skopje, Macedonia about a week ago! It’s been great since the moment
we arrived here! As long as it took to get here, our travel days actually ran
smoother than ever! It was quite an adventure through Ukraine, Hungary, & Serbia…
is a really great city…it’s much smaller than Kiev, but beautiful and filled
with character and charm. It’s nice to have mountains around us too! The
weather has been really cold and rainy…I haven’t adjusted so well… I think all
that time spent melting in Asia changed my perspective on temperatures! haha!

This
month we are working with Campus Crusades Student Life Program. So far, it has
been similar to last month. We spent the past week working with the Albanian
team, who are a complete joy! We went into many campuses meeting students,
inviting them to events, hanging out, handing out planners, etc… It’s pretty
common for people here to speak English so that makes connecting much easier.
Most Albanians are Muslim, so our approach has to be very subtle and discrete.
Albanian team kicked off the year with a big party! We had a great turn out!
After teaching them the Cupid Shuffle (which ironically I’ve found myself doing
all over the world…haha), they attempted to teach us a traditional Albanian
dance!

amazingly talented friend and teammate, Ashley
Huizenga,
made a short video of us leaving our friends in Kiev, Ukraine…
