We made it to Guatemala!
We arrived in Guatemala City last Saturday evening where a bus picked all 65 of us up to transport us to a guest home where we were to stay for the night. After an authentic (and incredible) Guatemalan meal of chicken and rice, we went to bed after quite the exhausting day and week. In the morning, we were lucky enough to wake up to this incredible view while worshipping our awesome God.

After worship and a yummy breakfast, we hopped back onto the same crowded bus and spent four hours crammed, riding into the mountains to our final destination of Santa Cruz del Quiche, Guatemala. Upon arriving to Quiche, we pitched our tents to what would be our new home for the next 3 weeks.

Seth Barnes (L Squad's Coach) and the founder of Adventures In Missions and The World Race met us in Quiche (check out his blog here). He spent the past four days pouring his life into us and teaching us. It is a great privilege for L Squad to have him as our coach as he is trying many new things with us and God is really working through them!
It is rare that a squad would stay together for an entire month, but we are all so thankful for this opportunity! It has been great getting to know one another and each other's stories.
After arriving in Quiche, our team was assigned our ministry obligation for the month. We are serving in an indigenous Mayan village called Patzibal. It takes an hour and a half each way to get there! Along with many modes of transportation, including the good ol' pickup truck ::

We are working at a local clinic ran by foreign missionaries in Patzibal. This is a new clinic for them, so we are cleaning and fixing it up. So far we have cleared, cleaned and painted one of the rooms of this three room clinic.

Many of the kids in the village come and play with us throughout the day and we are busy building relationships with them as well! Next week we will be teaching in the only local school in the village.

LOVE.
