In that day you will sing;
"I will praise you, O LORD!
You were angry with me but not anymore.
Now you comfort me.
See, God has come to save me.
I will trust in Him and not be afraid.
The LORD GOD is my strength and my song;
He has given me victory."

With joy you will drink deeply
from the fountain of salvation!
In that wonderful day you will sing:
"Thank the LORD! Praise His name!
Tell the nations what He has done.
Let them know how mighty He is!
Sing to the LORD, for He has done wonderful things.
Make known His praise around the world.
Let all the people of Jerusalem shout His praise with joy!
For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you."

Isaiah 12

I'm learning to tell God's stories, not my own.

God did a lot in my life at World Race Training Camp. As I was laying in bed a few nights ago, I was thinking back to camp and an instance where God tangibly showed up.

The thought occured to me, "I need to share this story! What am I doing keeping it to myself?"

I want God's power, glory and love to be displayed. God encouters us — especially when we seek Him. So here goes a story where I stood in awe of the LIVING God.

One morning, later in the week, I nestled into a quiet spot on the dining room porch after morning exercise. It was early and I was tired.

I had a deep desire for God to speak to me but did not have an agenda for my time with Him that morning. I knew my time with Him was short, so I quickly opened to Isaiah (one of my favorite books in the Bible). I glanced at Isaiah 12 — then began to delve deeply into the promises that this passage beautifully declares.

I spent the next half-hour writing every promise that was declared in Isaiah 12 in my journal. I meditated on the power that these words have and how they define an intimate walk with God.

These are the promises I wrote in my journal that day ::

God has come to save (v. 2)

God is my STRENGTH and SONG (v. 2)

God has given me victory (v. 2)

God is a fountain of salvation (v. 3)

God is mighty (v. 4)

God has done wonderful things (v. 5)

Great is God, who lives among me (v. 6)

Woah. These are some crazy promises. Powerful promises.

These promises rocked my world that day at training camp.

Shortly after my quiet time with God — I had the incredible opportunity to pray with my beautiful sister in Christ, Jen. Jen and I swapped prayer requests before heading off to the breakfast line.

Later that day, I shared the passage of Isaiah 12 to my new WR team, as they were announced that afternoon. I had not had a scripture speak to me that powerfully in a long time, so I felt the need to share it with my new family.

The next morning, Jen (the same girl I prayed with) approached me with a sweet card. Now, I did not tell her once that God spoke to me through Isaiah 12 and we are in different teams. Nor did I mention this scripture during our prayer time the day prior.

Written clearly in the letter was Isaiah 12!

She thought Isaiah 12 would be a great scripture to encourage me in this season.

I couldn't believe it!

Jen, my incredible sister in Christ, listened to the voice of God.

God, so lovingly and powerfully told Jen exactly what He wanted to continue to speak over me.

To many of you, this may not seem very powerful or exciting like it was to me. But, more than anything — it is a reminder that we serve a loving, personal, intimate God. He cares about our hearts! He cares so much about our hearts that He will repeat His promises over and over and over to us.

He loves us THAT much!

And as I continue to think about this story of God's presence in my life, I am moved to tears about His constant provision and love.

We serve quite the amazing God.

Amen.
