Hello Friends and Family!

I hope this letter finds you doing very well! I wanted to write you to tell you of the new happenings in my life. Life is sure a journey – and we can never expect what is next! I definitely did not expect to be writing you, informing you that in September, I will be leaving on the biggest adventure (and step of faith) I have ever taken!

As you may know, this past year I had the incredible opportunity to go to Haiti not just once, but twice. It was in Haiti that I was able to serve the orphans, widows and the oppressed. During my second trip to Haiti, I was able to serve at a wonderful orphanage (Operation Love The Children of Haiti), in Leogane, Haiti – the location of the epicenter of January 2010's earthquake. I met a beautiful little girl named Ella Grace (pictured below) at this orphanage. Ella was 17 months old, weighing a mere 11 pounds. Ella was brought to the orphanage only a week before I was there to serve – she was very sick and in constant pain. The Christian community surrounded this little one, loving Ella as their own. I held Ella, feeding her with a syringe as she cried out, needing nutrition for her fragile body.

I did not know that this precious life would impact me for forever. About a month after returning home from Haiti, Ella Grace passed away. It was at the moment of discovering her passing, that I knew I had to serve the oppressed. There is not a day that I do not think of Ella and the call God has put on my life because of her story. After much prayer, I have made the decision to go on The World Race with Adventures in Missions (AIM). In September, I will leave on an adventure of a lifetime, serving 11 different countries in 11 months – Guatemala, Uganda and Cambodia being just a few of the nations among the eleven. I have the incredible opportunity to serve the worlds oppressed : the prostituted, the orphaned, the widowed, the hungry and more, for nearly a year.

I am humbled and gracious that God has called me to His work across the world. I do not feel adequate – but I hold firmly to the promise that God will be the strength in my weakness. It is an honor to have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to these nations. I am writing to you with an invitation to join my support team. I am unable to do a trip of this magnitude alone. First, I ask that you would join me in prayer for this adventure. I believe that I need friends and family covering me and my team in prayer as we serve. Secondly, a trip like this does not come without a cost. I need to raise $15,500 to participate. I am looking for one time donations and monthly donations. It costs approximately $47 dollars a day (approximately 330 days) for me to be on the mission field. Please consider supporting me, even for just a day!

I have enclosed a response card and a pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in the adventures with me. If you feel lead to support me, please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. If you would prefer to make a donation online, you may do so by visiting my blog at : emilychant.theworldrace.org. Just click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed.

Thank you so much for taking the time to hear my heart. I am really looking forward to seeing how God uses me this next year among His people. I hope that I will not only be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you. I would be honored to go as your representative to bring Jesus Christ to the nations. I want to thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support. May God bless you as you prayerfully consider partnering with me in this ministry.

In Him,

Emily Chant
