Dear Friends and Family,

I have had quite an experience here in the Dominican Republic. This past month has been great and I will miss this country, but I am excited to be back in the States soon, if only for a short time. Over this past month, I was overjoyed to find that you all helped me raise more than $10,000 for the World Race! I so appreciate all of the prayer and support that helped get me there. I couldn’t do it without you all and I am beyond thankful to see God move in such a mighty way because of the faithful supporters he has given me.

I feel so blessed to have spent these past few months in the DR and I pray that I can leave my own unique “heartprint” here as I prepare to go at the end of this week. I believe that God has given each and every one of us our own “heartprint” much like He has given us our own unique fingerprint. We all have a different set of gifts, talents and passions that show how awesome God is in different ways. It is through that “heartprint” we leave that people remember the small piece of God’s greatness in our hearts as we leave a place and enter a new one. My time here has not always been easy but I know that God was glorified even through the more difficult times. Please pray that, as I leave my “heartprint” here, people would not remember me but rather that they would remember the God who lives in me.

The highlight of my last week here has been having the chance to visit other classes at the school as well as different Christian schools in the area. My favorite moment was when I ended up running a relay in my long dress after observing a P.E. class. I really enjoyed my time at that particular school to the point that I wished I could teach in Spanish so that I could teach at that school. They brought me so much joy that I decided I wanted to bring them joy as well, so I ran across a field, jumped over a stack of tires and ran all the way back.

As I end my time here, I am looking forward to what the Lord has planned for my life next as I work to continue fundraising in the States. I will be substituting, tutoring, nannying and pet sitting so if you know anyone that lives in the Palm Beach County area who needs any of those services please let me know. When I return, I plan to launch a new fundraising campaign called “Adopt-a-Country.” More information on that fundraiser is soon to come so keep an eye on my blog and facebook page if you’re interested.

I will be attending a training camp for the World Race in June and then I will begin my journey at the beginning of August. I covet your prayers as I prepare my heart for this incredible opportunity. Please pray that I will be able to leave my “heartprint” in every place I go over this next year. Once again, thank you all so much for your prayer and support, it truly means the world to me. May God bless all of you wherever you may be.

In Christ,

Emily B.
