South Beach in Miami, FL before WR launch to Ecuador. July 2011.

Greetings one and all! I’ve safely made it to Miami, Florida where I’ve met up with my World Race teammates. We enjoyed a relaxing day at the beach where the sand is almost as white as the snow in Wisconsin and the water is warmer than a bath. Truly beautiful. As usual, my fair skin soaked up a few too many UV rays and I’ve got a bit more color… at least I’ll be patriotic with my blue shirt on- red face, white legs, blue shirt. Gotta love it!

The day was the perfect way to transition to the Race. Everyone here just did the same thing I did- packed their life into a bag and said goodbye to the ones they love most. These strangers I’ve only known for a week from Training Camp have already become my family. I’m excited to make this journey with them!

I have one other person to introduce you to. She’s my traveling buddy. Her name is Spotty. Check her out:
