Hello Friends and Family!
My squad and I will be heading to Laos tomorrow morning for month 10 of the World Race! It’s so hard to believe we’re in the double digits now. I’m writing to let you all know that Laos is a closed country. This means Christianity is strictly prohibited. Phone lines are tapped, Facebooks are checked and e-mail is intercepted. Christians risk persecution through deportation or arrest.
Please don’t be alarmed. World Race teams are sent into Laos all the time with no complications. Those of you who know me well won’t be surprised by the fact that I could not be more excited! I’ve wanted to visit a closed country for so long, and the concept of being an undercover believer thrills me. For the purpose of secrecy however, I will be locking my blog. From now on, you will need a password to read any of my entries. This password is “Story.” In addition, my Facebook account will be deactivated for the month of April. I will reopen it again come May.
My team and I will be one of three “Unsung Hero” teams in Laos. This will be my third time doing UH, so as most of you know, we will be responsible for finding new contacts for the World Race to partner with. Since Laos is a closed country, it will be difficult to find organizations that trust us enough to admit they are Christian. I have no doubt that God is going to lead us to some amazing places though. I’m really looking forward to this month. Please keep us in your prayers.
