Last night I sat at a workers appreciation dinner for our church. I was so happy and full(spiritually and physically:)). We all came together to worship and eat. It was just one of those nights where you leave feeling so alive.
At the dinner we had a guest pastor from a partner church in Georgia. He spoke about the parable of the seeds from Matthew. He talked to us about planting seeds here in Morocco and even if we don’t see the fruit of our labor now its okay. He used the analogy of a bamboo tree and how long the seed takes to even sprout and then all of a sudden it will grow in six weeks. Everything we do is significant even if it is small.
This really hit me. I got to thinking about my time here and my time being a part of the church here. Being here has been such a growing experience and I owe it all to the people here. The people here have poured into me and planted seeds even without knowing it. I have been challenged, loved and supported in ways that I never knew possible. I can only hope that I have been that for other people here and can continue to be that for anyone I meet.
So with that being said I want to thank CIPC for being a part of my journey, my story and for becoming a part of me. As this chapter of my life is coming to a close I will forever hold this country, this city and this church deep in my heart because without my time here I would not be who I am today. Thank you God for bringing me here and putting so many wonderful people into my life.
