This week during bible study we did something different.  Something that I had never done before but I cannot believe how great it was.  We focused on Prayer.  We spent the whole time only in Prayer.

We all know how important it is to focus on prayer and to really pray.  However, it can be hard to take the time in the day to really sit down with no distractions and just pray.  Although I have been doing it every morning the past few weeks I don’t always take the time to do it.  The difference with the prayer this time was that we focused by doing prayer centers.  We used and acronym:

Praise-Take time to praise God for who He is.

Repentance-Take time to ask for forgiveness.  We all are not perfect and we do sin.

Acknowledge- Acknowledge who God is.

Intercession-Take time and pray for others.

Supplication for self-Take time and pray for what God is doing for you.

Equipping- Thank God for filling you up and blessing you.

By participating in prayer like this I was really able to focus on so many different parts of prayer.  All of the parts are equally important but I know I can get caught up praying for other people and thanking God for what he has done but how often do I pray and repent?  Not often enough.

It is incredible to see what taking the time to pray can really do for you.  So I encourage everyone to take the time to pray this week! 🙂
