First off let me say that I never pictured myself ever doing something like the World Race.  I grew up in Canton, Michigan and was a really shy little girl.  I never thought I would leave my home city, let alone travel around the world.  But God works in wonderful ways.

I attended Hope College where I played soccer and studied Spanish Education.  While at Hope I had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain and in Argentina.  I fell in love with traveling and spending time in new cultures and learning new languages.  I knew from that point on that I would go and work abroad.

I have spent the past four years teaching abroad.  My first year I taught in Ecuador and the past three years I have been teaching in Morocco.  My time here in Morocco has really helped me grow in my faith.  I have been blessed with a great church community here where I have been able to spend time with people from all over the world. (Which leads me to how I was called to do the World Race but I will save that for my next post :))

Here is a little more about me:

*I love to run.  I have done one marathon and will be doing another marathon this coming March in Barcelona!

*I love to read in my free time.

*I love my job.  One of my greatest passions and accomplishments has been working with children and teaching them.  I love seeing the joy on their faces when something they have been working so hard to understand finally hits them.  This year especially has been great working with the little 4 year olds.

*I have a twin sister and an older brother.

*I love playing soccer.

*Spending time with my family brings such joy to my life.

*I am extremely excited to see how God will use this next adventure in my life!
