This month my team, along with two others (Kingdom Come & Aletheia), will be doing ministry in Greystones, Ireland, serving the gypsies in the area. We will be south of Dublin on the coast, spending time with and loving on the gypsies.
While I was praying and journaling about this month, I ended up reading in Hosea, and a section of scripture jumped out at me for this month. I usually don’t like to take just a little part of a verse, but rather have the whole thing in context, but this time I felt like this one sentence was really speaking about what God is doing in the hearts of the people here.
“In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’ ~ Hosea 1:10b
Gypsies are wanderers. Many of them have trouble finding work because business owners don’t want to hire them. They are sometimes viewed as outcasts, undesirables. But God calls them sons and daughters, just as we are sons and daughters.
I feel so blessed that I get to go and serve these people for the next few weeks. Please be praying for the three teams that will be serving in this ministry and for the people we will come in contact with. I’m so excited!
