I'm at Launch. This is really happening. I mean, like really happening. It's not just something I'm talking about. Not just something that I'm dreaming about. I'm doing it. Actually doing it.
My squad, along with 2 others, are in a Holiday Inn near Dulles Airport in Virginia preparing our hearts to go to the nations. We will be here for the next couple of days, getting ready for a year of chasing after Jesus and sharing His love with the world.
Earlier tonight we all were in a session where we got to hear a message from World Race staff member Sean Smith. In a list of Biblical examples describing the crazy people who have chosen to follow Jesus, he listed one that really jumped out at me. The men who climb up on the roof of someone's house, rip it apart, and lower their friend down in front of Jesus so he can be healed. It happens in Mark 2:1-12, if you want to read the whole story.
Basically though, these men had so much faith in Jesus that they would stop at nothing to get to Him. They dismantled someone's roof for goodness sake. I want to trust like that. Believe like that. Be so sure of Jesus and who He is that I will do anything and go anywhere to get to Him. To get closer to Him.
These next 11 months are going to be crazy. And heart-wrenching. And beautiful. And an adventure. And terrifying. And stretching. And I hope to come back closer to Jesus than I am now. Because I'm going to have to lean on Him. And I'm going to learn to see the world through His eyes. And I'm going to fall in love with Him all over again. And I'm so excited!
