Arrived safely in Ecuador.
Our ministry this month is loving on little kids like these sweet girls and also spending time with the french people that work at Ecuasol.
We visited their flat (apartment, for those who aren’t caught up on the lingo) last week and just got to spend time getting to know them and also telling them why we came on this trip. We found out that all of 6 them are atheist and so are their families back home.
Our amazing view of God’s beautiful creations on our walk back to the bus.
This is Sofia. Her best friends name is ironically Emily.
They have the sweetest friendship and the kindest souls.
They love to laugh and they love to be aggravated (good thing I know all about that).
This past weekend was Carnival.
Carnival is a holiday the weekend before Ash Wednesday where all the people throw water, flour, eggs, tomatoes, and spray each other with foam and sometimes paint.
Although we briefly experienced this with the kids at Ecuasol we got to explore more of Quito and do a few crazy things on a whim.
I got my nose pierced, we visited the equator, explored Old Town, visited a beautiful basilica near Old Town and spend some time just enjoying Quito.
Last but not least, one of my favorite parts about being at Ecuasol.
Everyday is different. Sometimes we spend time painting and other times we get to go prayer walk and spend time in the neighborhood meeting new kids and people.
Last week we met this sweet old man named Segundo Flores.
But more on him later. 🙂
