The journey has begun!
We all arrived to Matamoros,
Mexico on
Sunday. It is fun being here as this was
the place where my heart for missions began to develop. I traveled to this exact place in high school
with my youth group for my first missions trip.
It is fun to see how it has changed.
They have built a completely new bathhouse for the girls, a prayer
garden, and have created and built a whole Missions Training Institute. It is neat to see the ways that God has and
is blessing this ministry.

We welcomed in the New Year by hanging out, having a
bonfire, and drinking sparkling grape juice.
I hope that you all had wonderful a New Years and are abiding by those
New Years resolutions.

We were given a “gift” on Monday which was a day with the
Lord. It was a wonderful time for me as
I got to spend time with the Lord in silence.
One of the AIM staff read the verse, Psalms 46:10 – “Be still and know
that I am God. I will be exalted in the
nations. I will be exalted in all the earth.”
God revealed much to me during this time, but He revealed a simple truth
through this verse. My last day of work
was on December 1st, so I haven’t worked since then, but I was able
to fill that time with lots of “noise.”
I had errands to do, people to meet for lunch, family to hang out with,
and trying to prepare for this World Race.
As I sat in silence with the Lord, I felt God calling me just to
“stop!” I have been go, go, going for a
long time. I felt God saying “stop
thinking, stop worrying, and stop wondering because I AM GOD. I have it under control.” It was a great affirmation to me that God is
in control in all situations and that He created me, loves me, and will take
care of me.

Since then, our days have been filled with spending time
with our teams and sitting through trainings.
Yes, mom we had a safety training today.
My team has slightly changed. Due
to some of the original World Race participants not having enough funds to
participate we had to do some adjusting.
Unfortunately, we lost Brienna to Team Hupomone, but we gained Andrew
from their team. We are excited to have
him on our team. I hope to post a
picture of our new team soon.

I hope you are all doing well. We leave on Thursday to “race” down to Palenque, Mexico
for another week of training before engaging in hands-on ministry. Please pray for safe travel, health, and
ministry opportunities as we venture to Palenque. As always, you are a very important asset to
this ministry!
