Hey there!
So, I get to tell you a little about me. I could start with the basics….
- I am from San Diego, CA (USA)- North County to be exact
- I am the middle child of 3 (older sister and younger brother)
- Went to Vanguard University (Costa Mesa, CA)
- Got my BA in Cultural Anthropology
- My favorite color is teal
- I love to travel!!
- I am SUPER STOKED about being on WR Fusion
As true as all of the above are, I think it is best if I start at the beginning. Who I am, and how my journey has brought me to this point.
Growing up I was an incredibly shy kid who got extremely home sick. I was the girl that mumbled, didn’t have many friends and would cry when I had to spend the night somewhere. Yep… that was me. But with some great parenting and prayer I began to move away from fear-filled living to faith-filled living. I began to grasp that NO matter where I was, Jesus was there and that if Jesus was on my side I had nothing to be afraid of. If God is for us, who can be against us?
I was in Middle School the first time I went to the mission field. My church took a day-trip to Mexico. We played with kids and gave supplies to the church. That’s when I knew my heart belonged to God’s people and I have had a desire for the nations ever since.
As time progressed, my confidence grew and my calling solidified. I became rooted in the simple, marvelous truth that I am created in God’s image and that HE formed me before I was in my mother’s womb. I began to live Proverbs 16:9 (“A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.”) and saw that as I laid my life before God and kept that honest desire to be used to minister to His people that He would make a way.
When I would plan to go HERE, God would direct my steps and send me THERE. And I found that the more I would follow God’s direction the more satisfied I was with life. After graduating college in 2012 I planned to live in Spain and teach English. But God directed my steps elsewhere. Instead I spent 4 months where I traveled around the US with four other young leaders; serving, learning and encouraging ministers in the States. I spent the next few years of my life pouring into my local church.
When I began seek what God had for me next he directed me to World Race. I am incredibly blessed, excited and overwhelmed by God’s guidance in my life. I know that WR is more than just an opportunity to travel and minister. I believe that God has brought me to the race at THIS time, on THIS team, on THIS route for a specific purpose. I don’t know what that purpose is yet, but I know that God’s plan has never disappointed.
That’s just a little about me and how I became a part of this crazy adventure. I look forward to sharing with you all that God does on the journey.
