Really, in the grand scheme of things what is a year? Nothing, right? When you view things with an eternal perspective a lifetime is but a vapor. Therefore, a year truly is no time at all. However, if you do not have eternity to measure time in this world against then a year takes on a little bit more weight.

Recently I have been torn between viewing 11 months as a vapor and viewing it as a lengthy amount of time.  I know that looking back on time past; time fades away, only memories remain. But when looking into the future there are not any memories to distract, time is all that exists.

I do not doubt God’s leading in my life to serve on the World Race. But every now and then I am reminded of just how long a year is and how much I will miss. It is in these moments that I feel God asking me if I am going to trust Him and his leading.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
