So I may of lied, I promised that my next blog would be from the Philippines, but the God I serve does cool things everywhere so I am going to tell you one of the many cool things God did in Atlanta during the time of launch. So we had some free time and were asked to ATL (ask the Lord) about some kind of ministry we could do here. There I was sitting with my team of girls being kind of a skeptic. I never really pray for God to show me pictures of where to go or what to look for to do ministry. I am much more used to just wondering and stumbling upon the people in daily life to make them ministry. But I guess there is a first time for everything.
I began to mostly pray for random things God has been teaching me, and praying for certain people on my heart. I guess I figured God would show the picture or word of where to go to someone else. But then in the midst of my prayer I was interrupted by a picture of a bike. “What the heck, this is random”! My mind was in a blockage and in a brief team discussion I was embarrassed slightly to tell my team that during my prayer time I saw a bike.
Our team was told to go to a designated area of Atlanta to do whatever God placed on our hearts. And as I previously mentioned I was born with a soul designed to wander, and I love to find out where I can serve on my own. Yes indeed it made my day that I was on a team that also liked the idea from wandering off course from the other teams. AdVEntures!!! We ended up walking aimlessly by some apartment complex where there were some of the cutest little kids playing. They ran up to us and a third grader by the name of Ben introduced us to his sisters and was like, “Yall wanna play some of hide and seek?” Well that led to freeze tag, which led to soccer, which led back to tag, which led to gymnastics, which led to break dancing, which led to this little kid telling us that He knew who Jesus was… After a couple of hours in the hot sun we had to say our goodbyes to start heading back to our hotel. The little boy said “I will miss you”, with a giant grin on his sweaty face. He then grabbed his bike and started to ride around. I had to do a double take. That was the EXACT bike that God had showed me in my prayer earlier in the day. I exclaimed with a beaming heart to my teammates how stoked I was because I had never experienced God through pictures before. I guess there is a first time for everything, and I am praying and seeking for more of those on the race.
Well literally this time tomorrow I will be on the airplane to the Philippines. Airport adventures here I come. You never know who you will meet on an airplane…
Exodus 33:15 "If you don't go with us, don't send us out."
God thank you that your true presence is always with me!
