Hello everyone- my name is Emily Lundy, and I am so stoked to take all of you on this amazing journey that the Lord is leading me through. First things first, I must begin with why my heart has been directed towards the world race ministry. Well God has taught me many lessons recently in a foreign land. In Taiwan I worked as a teacher at an English speaking school, the mission was unlike anything I have ever experienced. God is doing a lot of ministry in Taiwan right now, and I was very blessed to be a part of God’s amazing plan to save Taiwan. Since my trip two of my students made huge changes in their lives. One chose to give her life to Christ and another was able to get into an American Bible institute so that he can one day teach the Bible to more Taiwanese. Apart from these students there are many other students strongly endowed in their faith working towards planting seeds of Christianity.
Since being back in the United States, I love being able to watch God use my Taiwan experience to impact American teens. For example, after being home only a few days I was blessed to be able to share some of the stories of my experiences in Taiwan with students in Highlands County. Seven students at the Academy for Troubled Youth, as well as two students at Lake Placid Christian School, received Christ as their personal Savior that day! Praise God! I love how if you let God have full control of your hands and feet He really moves you into an awesome dance that glorifies Him.
Along with all of these joys and praises, Taiwan also taught me some harsh realities. During my stay, I applied and got accepted to volunteer at the Harmony House, an AIDS orphanage in Taiwan. This place was crazy; my new boss spoke five languages and was one of the smartest people I have ever met in my whole life, but he hated Christians. Religion of any kind is not taught at this place because they all come from different backgrounds and want ALL to be accepted. It is so hard though, seeing kids with no faces on the planet–for example the country will not claim them because some are biracial with no birth certificate or passport. They can’t go to school or even their own backyard because they are so hated for the disease they carry. It is awful seeing a place that not even the trash man will not go to gather their trash because they are afraid of being contaminated. Babies everywhere; one was only two weeks old and was the tiniest thing I have ever seen. All the workers are called nannies and are also outcasts of society. They are both gay and straight prostitutes, on drugs, got out of jail and have nowhere else to go, and have AIDS. It was the most unbearable feeling being in a place that many Christians have abandoned and seeing everyone in the house not knowing the love of Christ. Even worse they are not allowed to hear the Gospel. After speaking to various non-Christian Asians, I found that most of them do not want to receive the love of Christ because they see the American denominations fighting. It really broke me to think that because we CHRISTIANS are not showing Christ’s love to one another, they do not want to receive it themselves.
So this leads me to the current steps where I feel that God is leading me. I am blessed and excited beyond words to share with you that I have been accepted to be on the World Race Team thru Adventures in Missions. This is an11 countries in 11 months mission trip. It is Intra-denominational; Christians from multiple denominations are coming together to share the love that God gave us to utilize in places around the world that are struggling with poverty, human trafficking, and abandonment. I first heard about this race when I was fifteen from my first discipler, and God has not let it leave my heart since.
I can’t wait to watch God move. I want to make a difference for Christ in this broken world. God is the only One who can fix this temporary home of ours, but He calls me, He calls you, and He calls all of us to be His hands and feet! The route on which I am leaving for this venture starts in the Philippines and continues to Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan, India, Nepal, Ukraine, and finally in Romania.
This mission is not possible without the prayer of my fellow believers. I am praying daily and I know God is going to hear every one of those prayers! Thank you for your constant support and prayers. I am excited as we head on this wonderful adventure God has planned together.
