Hello my lovely people-

There are times in life and especially on the race, where I wonder “Is it supposed to be this way?”

This month Team Isha is at a home for special needs kids. What I realized is this…

God did not make a mistake with how he created these children mentally, physically and emotionally. You might think……. but they are limited, is that what God wanted? Yes, because value is not based on ability but on love.

One of the girls put it well “discomfort” is not of the Lord therefore if these children are in physical pain the Lord desires to heal them of it and I fully believe he will.

I realized these kids get what life is truly about because while we limit ourselves on a daily basis these children push their limits every day.

Life is full of choices and options. God created us because he loves us not to become slaves and rule followers but walk in freedom with him. When we choose otherwise, we limit ourselves. When we choose to live a culturally acceptable life style, never growing or changing as a person, we are limited. When we choose to never take a chance or follow our dreams, we limit ourselves.

The good Lord created us to go places physically, emotionally and spiritually. Your body is a creation of the Lord God, a vessel and when not used to glorify him, you are drastically limiting your ability to experience life to the full. This is when thoughts like “is this all there is to life?” or “everyone seems happy but me” and even “maybe if I get (blank) I will be happier” begin to consume your mind.

This is truth my friends and any reason justifying your current limitations is an excuse and out of fear (I’m a bad person, I don’t have the money, I can’t make it). Fear is not of the Lord and was never meant to rule your life.

“Messing up” or taking a wrong turn is simply a speed bump not a chance to take a U-turn. It will happen and God will walk you through it because no matter how much you drive off course he’s like a GPS, prepared with step-by-step directions to bring you back on track.

May you experience freedom and throw away limitations; taking risks and punching fear in the face like our sweet kids inspire me to do every day.
