Hello friends-
I have officially begun to send out my support letter and I have to be honest, raising financial support is somewhat uncomfortable and awkward for me (yes, the title of this blog is a bit sarcastic).
The Lord is already showing me a few areas that cause my dislike for fundraising:
1. I like to be in control
2. I like to be constantly busy and moving around
3. I like to have precise and clear direction
A few things I'm learning….
1. It is not by my power that this money can be raised (surprisingly $15,500 isn't "chillaxin" in my account, shocking I know) and I am incapable of doing it on my own (little jab to my pride).
"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do NOTHING. " John 15:5
2. I have a difficult time relaxing and not feeling useless..
I can hear the Lord telling me to just BE, be with him in prayer, be with him in the word (not easy for a person w/ a major case of ADHD).
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"-Psalm 37:4
3. My human tendency is to want control over my life resulting in me majorily underestimating the power of prayer. Also, until recently I often made choices and then asked God's blessing over them versus the other way around (silly me, I thought I knew best).
"For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength." -1 Corinthians 1:25
Overall, I am learning how to let God drive the car while peacefully sitting in the passenger seat (obviously there is some car dancing involved).
*I am simply a human, broken and weak but I praise the Lord God, for he is in charge.
"Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture." -Psalm 100:3
My dear friends I want to say thank you because I would not be able to go on this journey without an incredible support system. I am thankful for the amazing friends and family the Lord has placed in my life. I want you to know your prayer and encouragement is extremely important and oh so powerful (I cannot say this enough).
