“Every
experience God gives us, every person He puts in our path, is the
perfect preparation for a future only He can see.”  -Corrie Ten Boom

This
quote sums up how I feel God has worked and continues to work in my
life.  He has given me a handful of unbelievable experiences and the
opportunity to go on the World Race is another one.  My life isn’t
really what I thought it would be at age 28, but I’m loving what God
continues to lay before me.

I grew up for the most part in Southern NJ and while I was raised going to church every Sunday,
God really didn’t have a place in my life.  My freshman year of HS was
pretty rough, but through good friends and God’s pursuit of my heart I
ended up at Young Life camp and really understood the gospel for the
first time.  That was the beginning of this incredible journey the Lord
has me on.  My father passed away suddenly my senior year of HS and I
really questioned God for a few years as I dealt with hurt and anger in
my heart around that and other issues, but God was FAITHFUL and His
pursuit of me never stopped.  My mom, my brother and his wife and most
of my extended family still reside in South Jersey.

I graduated
in 2002 from The College of NJ with a BS in Business Information
Systems Mgmt.  I knew God was calling me to youth ministry and so I
followed that call.  I spent a year studying His Word at The Kanakuk
Institute in Branson, MO and then in the Fall of 2003 I went on staff
at a Church in Charlotte, NC as the Assistant Director of Middle
School.  It was a great 3 years where I was challenged, stretched and
grew a ton.  This is when God really began to work on my heart towards
missions and ministering to the least of these.   I had the opportunity
to lead and be a part of many missions trips, mostly to the country of
Haiti or with the Haitian community in the US.  After leaving my job in
2006 I spent 3 months living at an orphanage in Haiti and it was life
changing to say the least.

I
have spent the last year working at Young Life’s Windy Gap in
Asheville, NC.  During this year I spent a week in the Dominican
Republic and just knew that God was calling me to go overseas.  I
wasn’t sure where and what so when I discovered the World Race I began
to pray.  I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind.  I am confident
God is calling me to this and am both excited and scared to step out in
faith and follow His lead.  My desire is to love and know Him more and
to be a part of furthering His kingdom.

Random things you may want to know:  love sports, love to run, love to read, love 24 & Lost,  love
buffalo chicken, love the outdoors, use the words ‘yo’, ‘dude’, and
‘peace’ way too much, love kids, love to play games, love coffee shops,
love my computer & camera, and love to hang with people of all
ages, hear their stories & share my own.  I can’t wait for next
year!

“We
loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the
gospel of God, but our lives as well.”
