These “About Me” sections always trip me up. I used to think it was because I wasn’t sure who I was…but today that is not how I feel. Today I know who I am. I am a daughter of the King. I am a lover of Christ. Somedays I am a planner and a thinker. Most days I am a feeler and a bit of a free spirit. I am a worshipper. I am a daughter and a big sister. I am a teacher and a student. I am an adventurer. I am a friend. I am loved.
All of these things are what I want you to know first. They are the things that I want to define to me. So, if you want to skip the rest of this, now would probably be the time to click not the next tab. But if you choose to join me for the rest, I made it simple. Lists are my favorite.
1. I grew up just north of Cincinnati, Ohio and am currently planted there along with the rest of my immediate family.
They are pretty cool.
2. I love today’s role – being the children’s pastor at my home church, teaching a 6th grade band, and running a cute little photography business.
3. I am in awe of the calling and opportunity of 2015’s role – being a World Racer! My Squad and I will be traveling to:
4. I have a degree in Music Education from Anderson University, in Anderson, Indiana. I loved this part of my journey and know that God will continue to use me in the ways that I have been equipped.
5. I have a long haired Dachshund named Snickers.
I am not excited about leaving him for 11 months.
6. I have played things very safe in my life. I met Jesus at age 9, I have attended the same church for 26 years, I followed the plan I made in high school. And then God reminded me that my plans are nice, but His are so much better. I don’t know where I’ll be in 5 years. I don’t even know where I’ll be at this time next year ( I have 11 options). I am learning to be ok with that. Isn’t life much more exciting then, anyway? I am so grateful to have a God who created me and knows me better than I know myself.
