Awakening.
This past Friday, in
backwoods of Georgia,
there was a flooding of over 200+
twenty-somethings
onto a tiny college campus, coming in from all corners of North
America.
Every walk of life represented.
Every background you can imagine. Every heart seeking to take the love of Jesus
to the Nations.
During our four days
of training before sending these students out to the field for two months, one
of the main focuses was worship.
I don’t know what
your definition of what worship is, and to be honest, I haven’t always known
how I define the word worship. But in recent months I have come to this,
Worship is my response to what I value most.
This past week, I
found myself standing in the back of an auditorium worshiping along side my
people – MY GENERATION.
It looked something
like – – some standing with arms stretched wide. Others sitting with head in
hands. And some lying on the floor with hands raised. Some swaying back in
forth, some jumping up and down.
There was movement. Not only
physically – but spiritually.
There is an awakening!
A response to what we value.
FREEDOM. GRACE. JUSTICE. WHOLENESS. HOPE.
No one necessarily told
these students that “this is how it looks
to worship.”
No, in fact, it was
an overtaking of Jesus himself; who showed up to a group of people desperate
to see HIS Kingdom come to their hearts in Toccoa, Georgia, a tiny dot on the map – and
toThailand, Cambodia, India, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Swaziland, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru – twelve different counties these students are headed to for the next two months.
Google search told me
that there are approximately 18, 248, 128 college students in the United States.
On behalf of this small people group, can I tell you something?!
We sure has hell
don’t always have our act together. We are typically a “do now – think later.” Often living by the seat of our pants, and daddy’s money.
But this generation
has a quest for MORE.
We’re not afraid to
take risks. We are willing to try new things. To seek out the unknown,
because there’s this
expectancy. This inner calling that there’s more out there that what we’re
experiencing and living in now.
I’ve had it spoken over
me – and heard it voiced many times over that this generation is dead and needs a reviving.
There might be some truth in that…
But as a 22 year old,
living in and among this age group, I’d like to state a different reality.
THIS GENERATION IS NOT DEAD.
We are not dead, but only sleeping.
The awakening has
come! We are alive! The battle cry has been sounded and we have heard it – and
there is an advancement and movement happening TODAY!

Kingdom has come!
Join the awakening.
Arise! Move! Go!
You weren’t made to sleep – you where made to arise and LIVE FULLY ALIVE!
