Is what our ministry contact told us of the man, who was also drunk at the time, that we stopped us to talk to the North American women riding through his village. It was quite eventful, filled with me repeating what the elderly man was saying and trying to communicate with him on what he was trying to tell us, which I turned out to be quite the funny woman, because he was laughing and I joined in because it felt like the appropriate response. Still have no idea what was actually said, I think I may have married Tia off to the other man, (who I think was mentally challenged) because then he came over stood next to Tia and smiled from ear to ear.
In our time there I think was a perfect time when things aren’t what you expected and you have no other choice but to rely on God. We couldn’t rely on ourselves and our understanding and our knowledge of the situation because we were at quite a disadvantage. But in that time I prayed for God’s protection over us, which He gave, but I also found myself praying for the men. Just because they were drunk didn’t mean they didn’t deserve to be heard and paid attention to. They needed prayer just as much as the elderly couple the day before. At times it’s the most lost who need the most saving. We don’t get to pick and choose who we think needs prayer or who we want to. God puts it on our hearts to pray for those in need and it’s our job to obey.
Obviously our beginnings of ministry have been…..”eventful” to say the least. Not only with the men mentioned above but the first home we visited I was asked if I was married because I had a head scarf wrapped around my head, in which my team and I proceeded make up my husband; Pharrell Kenoly, very handsome by the way. I was asked if I was from South Africa, yeah that one I don’t understand but I went along with it anywayJ We rode on a home-made rollercoaster AKA a horse and carriage. Ended up getting stuck on the horse when the horses friend came and didn’t want to leave him be. We had the “interaction” with drunk men who were oblivious that we had absolutely no idea what they were saying, and later learned that one was a “dangerous killer man” hmm yes total proof that God was with us there. That probably worried many people reading this but no need we are all good and don’t forget we got the most powerful fighter and protector of all; God. We were invited to a memorial service, which I and Tia fully intend on attending. And lastly the day ended with a woman asking Tia if she wanted calcium for her allergy to cats. Oh good ole Romania, definitely some stories and memories to be had here:)

Our crazy ride before our crazy day of ministry…
