(Ok I've had this blog written for a while(and while I was still in Honduras) but internet not always my friend, sorry so late:(

The evening started with going to church here, Saturday, with a few of my squad mates along with Ariel, Anna, and Walter who all live here at Zion’s Gate. It was so great! It felt like church back home with so many young people. It’s a small church and because more people were coming they had to get every chair out. Also the pastor wore jeans and sneakersJ It was a special night because instead of their typical sermon they had 2 testimonies of a 25 year old woman and a man in his early 20’s. Man, listening to their testimonies and hearing how God has saved them and worked in their lives and continues to use them was just so reassuring and such a blessing to see. Both had stories filled with drugs, alcohol, sexual abuse, violence, poverty, physical pain, thoughts of suicide, and total despair. They each came to the point that they told God it was either they choose Him or they choose death. Thank God they chose God. Their lives are still a struggle but now it’s never walked alone. They literally were saved. Listening to their stories I became so much more grateful and blessed beyond belief for God blessing me and even with my struggles which were hills compared to the mountains these two young people suffered through, which is sadly not uncommon here. But to see them cling to their Faith and to Christ was an……inspiration. During the second testimony the lights went out in the whole area, don’t know what happened, but you would think well they’ll cut the service down short because no lights and no mics much more difficult to hear but nope, the show went on. It was beautiful. A few people used their phones for light and a couple candles were lit and church went on like normal. A sweet part was when the band sang a capella and it was so beautiful to hear everyone’s voices so clear and pure. I thoroughly enjoyed church and His body and the beauty of being in another part of the world and away from my home church but being with the body of Christ is always home.
