Hey All!
My names Elizabeth Galloway and I’m eighteen. I grew up moving around a lot, I’ve lived in a lot of different places like Hawaii, Alaska, California, Washington and Missouri.
I live at home with my parents, 2 of my older brothers (I have three), my younger brother and my younger sister; one of my brothers is married and moved out. I’m kind of nuts and I get a whole lot worse if I eat artificial food dye, so take note ‘Never give Elizabeth red dye’
I’m a writer which makes me a little crazy.
I grew up on a farm and we named all of the animals so if I start talking about how mean Dianne is, I am talking about our cow not a person.
I’m a coffee addict, I’m grumpy and in Zombie mode till I get caffeine in the mornings.
If you sing Christmas carols before Thanksgiving around me, you will be poked for every word.
I love little children! I would rather be surrounded by 4 year old’s than people my own age.
I love to draw, I want to use that gift God gave me, and share it with others.
My favorite season is winter, mostly because of the snow, being able to have snowball fights and build snowmen.
I love Dogs, huskies and German Shepherds mostly.
Reading is one of my Favorite things to do, my favorite books are the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
I’m kind of a quiet person till I start to get to know someone.
I don’t really play video games or watch TV a lot, so I don’t really have a favorite game or movie.
I Play the violin and love listening to music.
I like the board game Telestrations, though no one likes to play with me because I’m an artist, I also like Clue, I never win this game it is still one of my favorites.
I Love acting, I have been in a musical play for the last four years about Laura ingalls wilder, but my favorite play I have been in was ‘The Tale of Two Cities’ by Charles Dickens
I really don’t like cards, I think my dislike for cards came from during the holidays when my Dad and brothers would play poker, only poker, for hours, and they would make me play with them, only fun part of that was the ‘Money’ that was not real money, but mint M&Ms.
My favorite Holiday is Thanksgiving because a lot of people don’t give thanks for things all year round, and thanksgiving is a day where they look at all God has given them, and are thankful for it.
One of my favorite bible verses is Hebrews 13:5-6
“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said,
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Here is how I found out about the World Race Gap Year
My older brother was looking at some short term mission trips online, he left the tab open on the computer and I found it, it was a summer trip to Europe, I looked into it some, but it was launching in a week.
I looked for other ones for a while, and found some trips that looked awesome, some to Ireland or Europe and I thought that would be amazing going to Ireland for a month.
But that would have been for me, I wanted to go to Ireland, so I decided that I would keep looking till I found the one God wanted me to go on.
It was a few days later that I found the World Race, I thought Nine months? That’s a long time.
I didn’t want to be gone from my family that long, Still don’t, But for some reason I kept thinking about the trip, It kept popping into my head.
So I looked into it more. I found some shorter trips but none of them looked or felt right.
So I gave in to the pull and researched the ‘World Race Gap Year’
I talked to my parents about it and they told me that they would support me if I decided to do it.
My mom said she had a peace about the trip, that she would miss me and they all would worry about me but if I believed it was what I need to do they would help me out.
So I waited till they posted the 2017 routes and I looked through them, I prayed and it was hard to decide what route to take, there was one that went to china, and one that went to India. I printed out the routes, my older brother told me to throw darts and whatever one it hit was the one I should do, but I didn’t do that. I prayed and read my bible and I just felt like route 2 was the route I need to take, So i will be going to Romania, Ukraine, Chile, Peru and India in 2017.
I really look forward to see what God will do with me on this trip, I don’t really want to be away from my home for nine months but I want to do what God wants me to do.

I made this verse my motto, to encourage me when I question if this is what I’m really supposed to be doing.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
~Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
