Over two years ago, before I even applied for the World Race, I was watching a video that Adventures in Missions had posted on their website about a woman who had given up the comforts of her life in the United States to help women in a red light district of Bolivia . During a previous mission trip to the country, she saw that nobody was reaching out to the women in the area and was moved so deeply that shortly thereafter she sold everything and she and her husband moved to Bolivia, listening to the call that God had placed in her life.  She depended on God for her means, and he provided her with all that she needed to speak life and light into these women.  Her life would never be the same, nor would the life of countless others, all because she listened to what God wanted her to do.

I was so moved while watching the video that right then and there I asked God to someday allow me to work alongside this woman and her organization.

And then time passed, and at some point, I forgot about my prayer.

About a week ago, my team, Bold Radiance, found out where we’ll be doing ministry for the month of July: Located at around 13,600 ft above sea level sits a city called El Alto, in the area of La Paz, Bolivia.  Within this city’s limits is an organization called Word Made Flesh where hope through Christ Jesus is shared to people affected by prostitution and sex-trafficking.  The co-founder of the operation is the very same woman that inspired me to pray a prayer to God just a few years ago.

How’s that for confirmation that I’m right where God wants me to be!

I fly to Bolivia in less than a week, and I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.  But I leave here so incredibly excited, knowing full well that God chose this ministry site specifically for me, and that He has HUGE things in store for me.  He has paved the way, planted seeds, and prepared hearts.  Lives, including mine, will be changed in the most beautiful way, and none of us will ever be the same.
