It happened three times before noon today, which had me concerned because it's not a

common occurrence. I will oftentimes get a knot in my throat and pools will well up in my eyes.

But this time BIG FAT crocodile tears came pouring down my cheeks and I actually fanned my

face like Miss America does after she wins that coveted crown, which made me laugh and cry

even more because I looked so pathetic sitting there by the pool.  I have never once in my 25

years fanned my face in that fashion. This all happened when I was reading a current Racers

blog post about playing

soccer somewhere in Africa when they had to stop the game because a herd of cows started

walking across the field. REALLY?! Most would have probably laughed at the cow story, but for

some reason, this tough, tomboy of an athlete started to cry.  It's a beautiful thing.  I praised

God in that moment, through the tears, for finally softening my heart enough to let Him

completely engulf me wherever He saw fit.  This is just the beginning of my story.  I have six

months before I leave on the World Race.  I will take each tear-hopefully most a happy- in stride

and look forward to growing as God continues to reshape my heart.

More on my journey coming soon.
