I can’t believe I am even typing this but it is MONTH 9 of my race and I am spending it in the beautiful country of Rwanda.

This month is also what we call “manisty” month meaning that all of the men on my squad have been given the opportunity to escape all of the estrogen to spend time serving the Lord together. I don’t really know what this will look like for them, but I know they will continue to claim their identities as men of God. I also imagine they will be doing a lot of exercising, eating meat, and talking about manly things. So naturally, since the men are all together, so are all the women. The 27 of us girls are split between 2 ministry sites in a celebration that we have started to call “femistry” month.

This month is all about empowering one another as women. It is about realizing that we are strong, confident daughters of the living King. It’s about love, sisterhood, and growth. We are working with a great contact and spending a lot of time together, playing silly games, encouraging each other, and worshiping our Father. I have been on an all-girls team the whole race, so being surrounded by women is not anything new to me. However, I am learning more and more each month what it means to love one another recklessly as women. To love without the fear of judgment, without the spirit of comparison, and without expecting anything in return.  It’s time to dive in, because nobody has time to coast through the rest of the race. God has so much more for us on this journey. Let’s get it girls!
