Me and my team really wanted to eat carribean food one night. We were in Puerto Viejo in a afro carribean cultured area.

So one night we ventured out into town to a place called “Lidia’s Place”. Let’s just say the food was “rico” (delicious)! Amazing Carribean food, tucked in one of the popular side streets in the town of Puerto Viejo.

We noticed that there were bible scriptures written on the restaurant menu’s and christian music playing in the background. After we had eaten our food I went up to talk to the owner.

She told me in the days before her restaurant was popular, she would make plates of chicken and put a sign outside of her house and wait for people to come to buy it. One day she had made chicken and no one came to buy it and she was greatly saddened because she needed the money to buy necessities for her family. The streets were deserted, not a person in sight.

She finally got fed up and went in her house and started worshipping God. She prayed, “God please just send me 2 people to buy this chicken”. The next second she heard someone yelling for her from the street, it was 2 people ready to buy the chicken she had made. She said from that moment on it opened the door to a flood of customers. Ever since then she has built up a beautiful restaurant and has a booming business. After she told me this story she looked at me with tear filled eyes and said “It would be my dream to host missionaries one day”.

Her son coaches soccer where he shares about God to the street kids that are on the team. She also would love help doing construction on the church she attends down the road and worship/preaching and ministering within it. She would love for some missionaries to work in the restaurant with her while decipling missionaries in living in her house with her.

Great woman of God, great family and above it would make her dreams come true to host World Race missionaries.
