It’s been a busy winter at Adventures in Missions! I am so
blessed to be a part of an organization which starts every Monday morning with
worship and prayer, seeking God for direction before they do anything else.
“He will
be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and
knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure” Isaiah 33:6
We recently had a ‘Walk thru the Bible’ seminar at AIM that
I participated in and loved it so much that I immediately applied to be an instructor. We were taught by the president of the organization, whose daughter also works at Adventures. If you’ve never heard of it, check it out! The
combination of interaction and hand motions is a fun way for either kids or
adults to learn the overall story of the Bible. I was accepted as an instructor and looking forward to a week
of training this summer in Atlanta. http://www.walkthru.org/
The last few months I helped put together our very first
Parent Vision Trips, where World Racers invite their parents for a week on the missions
field. They get a brief glimpse into what it’s like to be a Racer— caring for
orphans, ministering in brothels, building homes for the poor.
On my end it was
a lot of logistical work… gathering itineraries, making lodging arrangements,
booking plane tickets, etc. but it was so exciting to get the reports back of all
God had done in the lives of everyone involved. It was absolutely incredible, I was blown away!
Parents and their kids changed forever, realizing all the dreams God still has for
them–that they hadn’t missed their chance but it was just the beginning. We did trips in Kenya and Thailand, and next month will be
going to Romania, Kenya, and Guatemala.
Speaking of which, last October I was sitting at my desk and
felt God say to me, “Pray about Guatemala”. I had known when I got home from the
Race that the next place I would probably go would be Latin America, but I
didn’t know what it would look like. After quite a journey of figuring
that out, finally this spring I have the opportunity to go! I was recently
accepted to be a part of an amazing team who are launching a mobilization
center in Guatemala. This is just the beginning phase of establishing AIM discipleship bases
around the globe. The purpose includes things such as receiving short term
teams, helping set up ministry for them, meeting felt needs and establishing new
ministries. It will also be partnering with existing ministries to work together as the
Body of Christ…all as the Lord leads. So I have finished my ‘desk job’ and will be back on the missions field for a time!
The Team there now:
I need to raise support for this trip and am hoping to be
able to leave before the end of April. It is $850 a month plus airfare. (If you
are able to help, please click the ‘donate here’ tab). God is always the Great
Provider! I sure do appreciate your sacrifice, every little bit helps!
God has been doing a lot in my life this year and I am
praying that we would be ever more grateful and aware of His working in our lives even when we don’t ‘feel’ it.
“Surely
his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled
with his glory. Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have
kissed! Truth springs up from the earth, and
righteousness smiles down from heaven. Yes, the Lord pours down
his blessings. Our land will yield its bountiful harvest. Righteousness goes as a
herald before him, preparing the way for his steps.” – Psalm 85:9-13
If you are in the New England area, I am having a little reception this
Sunday from 2-4 pm at Worcester First Assembly of God (kids entrance). Free home-made cake pops
and hot cocoa, what more could you ask for? Hope you can stop by, would love to
see you!
