Lets see, we all left our hostel in Nairobi Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m divided into our teams and took our seats on various buses that would bring us to our sites all around Kenya. I am in Isibania, which is right on the boarder of Tanzania. LITERALLY right on the boarder, like yesterday we all walked to Tanzania (well to no man’s land, where you are technically there but not through customs yet.) Anyway Tuesday morning at 9 a.m my team and I loaded ourselves on to the great easy coach bus and started the 9 hour journey to Isibania . This journey was not short of excitement and epic off roading where for the most part I just closed my eyes my eyes really tight. We are working with Pastor Abraham this month. He is the pastor of Deliverance Church Isibania, and we are staying at a family’s home who attend Deliverance church. Esther and Joash and their two ridiculously adorable children Hephiziba and Azaria. Pretty much our accommodations are amazing, there’s a video of a little tour of the house that two of my teammates (Tommy and Billy) made so hopefully I will be able to upload that soon.
We’ve spent the past couple days just getting to know the area, and watching Soy Tu Duena every night with our host family, 8 pm is everyone’s favorite time. And the other day while driving to town there were 11 people in the taxi we were taking (5 person vehicle) and who would have guessed that we would have to pull over and wait for a hail storm to pass, in KENYA. Ok so this brings me to Thursday, which was my birthday! Yep 22 in Kenya! Now as most of you know I love my birthday so I knew I would be excited no matter what but I was blown away with love by so many people. First I woke up to signs my team had made for my birthday around the house and then my team along with the little kids singing happy birthday. (well trying to mouth words) The whole day ending with a celebration with a cake, that was also shared with my teammate Billy who’s birthday is the day after mine. Oh and not to mention I got to use a phone to call home on my birthday…Thanks Lils! Point of story I am much more ok with turning 22 now, wasn’t as bad as I thought 😉 haha.
well thanks again to my supporters for helping me get here. God is showing up in big ways.

AND HOPEFULLY PICTURES SOON IF THE INTERNET EVER ALLOWS IT.
