Hello, I am Edolbina Krahn (yes that is my real name, and it sounds exactly like its spelt), Im 23 years old and from BC, Canada!
I was born in Paraguay, but my family and I moved to Canada when I was 6. I have 2 brothers, Elger, hes 24, is getting married this August. Eleano, 16, will always be 6 in my eyes.
My parents are wonderful and lively and spontaneous! Our family is very close and we spend alot of time together.
I have been a Christian since I was a young girl, I made the choice to follow Jesus when I was 6 years old. I spend my teen years working at Christian summer camps, teaching sunday school and being very involved with my church. When I was 15, I went on my first trip to Europe. Though it was a short trip, it sparked something in me and I knew that world travel would a part of my life for years to come.
I took my frist big trip alone when I was 18. I spent almost a year in Europe, working as an Au-pair during the week and travelling to different countries on weekends. It was an incredible time of living and growing apart from my family. It was scary and exciting and really helped prepare me for future travels.
In 2007, I spend 9 months backpacking around Australia and New Zealand. In that time, I found myself in Perth working as a volunteer for YWAM. During my 3 months there, God really started to work on my heart, showing me some of His character and giving alot of insite to what missions actually is!
I felt called to go back to Perth, so in July 2008, after a few weeks in China, I started my DTS (Discipelship Training School) there! Wow, what an incredible time! We spend 12 weeks in Perth, each week learning about a different topic (Father Heart of God, Nature and Character of God, Hearing Gods voice, Repentance and Forgiveness, etc), it was an intense time of learning, where God really broke down walls and revealed His heart for me and that nations!
After our lecture phase, I spent 3 months in Jakarta, Indonesia. During that time, we working in slums, with local churchs, taught seminars, and a million other things that I never thought I was capable of doing! During that time, God taught so me so many things about His heart to see the nations changed. What else can I say? God is good, He has guided me and protected me through every situation and every choice I have made, good and bad!
Some random things about me:
- Im a “high energy” person.
- I prefer salty over sweet.
- Im a hippie at heart, and when I travel, I look the part!
- I love sunshine and torn jeans.
- I laugh at everything, especially when I shouldnt.
- Suprises are my favorite thing in the whole world. It doesnt matter what it is, if Im surprised, Ill love it!
- I get so excited about things that I make myself sick. Sometimes people think that Im not being sincere because of my extreme reactions to things! As my mom says, I get “bouncy balls in my heels”
- I hate being sick, but if theres a disease to be caught, Ill catch it!
- My toes are almost always cold
- I HATE milk.
- I wake up happy and bright eyed 99% of the time.
- I have always wanted a baby elephant named Lucy.
- I get hurt alot. I fall off things, or run into things, or misjudge my strength. I always always always have bruises. Always.
- When Im with my best friends, my heart feels lighter, my souls feel refreshed and I think “This is what Jesus was talking about with that whole Love thing!”
