I have been listening to "abba" by Johnathon David Helser almost non stop. Since I got to training camp, and since I have returned home. While i was at training camp the words of that song were no longer just lyrics. They became real, and are true in my life. One thing i have struggled with, is grasping that God is my Abba, my father. My heavenly father who loves me so much more than anyone ever can. My relationship with my father here on earth has been up and down, in and out. Because of that I projected earthly emotions and feelings towards God. I now know that Abba loves me, his never fails, never fades, never changes. He runs after me with a ring and robe. Even after i have betrayed and been astray from him in many areas of my life. He is so pleased with me, and delights in me! In the song he sings about our Father being more real then the ground we is standing on. Again training camp helped me grasp that concept. God is living and real. I encountered and witnessed him moving in and through me, and not just me, i saw him in many other brothers and sisters. The healing of deaf ears, the healing of celiacs disease, people going out in the spirit, and the over whelming joy i experienced made that verse of the song come true. HE IS REAL. More real than the ground i stand on. Another verse in the song is you "you're thoughts define me, you're inside me, you're my reality." Once again the words of this song becoming real and true. At training camp i was able to declare my identity and have God define me, not my past. The God that raised Christ from the dead lives inside me. I am no longer identified as a drug addict alcoholic, i am a son of the KIng of Kings, a son of The Mighty God! The next verse in this song says "Abba, i belong to you". Wow, that is awesome. To think that i belong to the God who created all of heaven and earth. I belong to you. That sense of belonging is so powerful, brings peace over me! Abba I belong to you!
You’re more real than the wind in my lungs
You’re more real than the ground I’m standing on
You’re thoughts define me, you’re inside me
You’re my reality
Abba, I belong to you
You’re closer than the skin on my bones
You’re closer than the song on my tongue
love these people! helped the words of this song be true!
