This weekend Bryan, Nate, Johnny, and I went to an amazingly beautiful island.  We woke up early on Saturday morning and took the ferry to Koh Yao Yai.  It was about an hour-long ferry ride to the island.  When the ferry docked at the island, I knew I was in paradise.

We took a taxi to our hotel and found we were right by the beach.  We had incredible views.  We found some lunch and spent the day on the beach.  I had some marvelous Jesus time on the beach – listening to worship music, reading, and swimming in the ocean.

It was great fellowship with the three other guys as well.  I thoroughly enjoyed the time we got to spend together.  We spent the night on Saturday and woke up refreshed as ever and ready for another day on the beach.

As we left the island, I was overcome with the feeling that God created that island (and every other island) strictly to glorify His name!  Luckily for us, part of the way He glorifies His name is by allowing us to bask in the beauty of all creation.  It was crazy for me to think about the amount of darkness in Phuket that was just a short hour away by ferry, and the beauty of this island.  It reminded me how close darkness and light can be.  Don’t get me wrong, Phuket is beautiful, but it’s a lot harder to see when you’re focused on the darkness.

Sunday was just as perfect as Saturday.  We rode back on the ferry and I sat on the bow of the boat.  I was alone (which I quite appreciate) and I put my headphones in but ended up not even listening to music.  I sat there in the sun, cruising on the ocean, soaking in all of God’s creation and beauty.  I still can’t quite believe He created all of this with our enjoyment in mind!
