I haven’t done a blog in a while so I thought, “I should do one!”

Hey, let me tell you about Nepal.  First let me tell you about my favorite ministry we did every week, street kids ministry. On Wednesdays we would go meet the kids in the morning and play soccer, games, and just hang out with them. After, we would do a devotion with them, which included acting out different stories in the bible such as the story of Gideon.  Then, we would feed them lunch. Many of the kids do not get much food during the week. We were told that sometimes the kids would come and eat so much they would throw up because they would eat so much. Also, there was no girl street kids. That is because when girls get put on the street they get snatched up and put into prostitution. Just a side note, trafficking and slavery is very real, and if you don’t believe that, then get out of your bubble and open your eyes to the things around you. Even in America sex trafficking has became a major issue. I won’t get off on all that but I am passionate about ending slavery so I could get on that subject all day long. Anyway, back to the main subject. I always looked forward to Wednesday even though we had to wake up earlier than the other days.  Most of our ministry this month was evangelism, which was a lot different from India. Everyday the squad would meet at the Agape house have worship and a devotion. After, we would go different places everyday. For example, the first week of ministry we went to different temples, like the boudhanath stupa, and prayed over the place and let God lead us to a person to talk to or pray with. Another day we had bus ministry! We spilt up into groups, got on a bus, and went around the entire city on it. While going around the city we would sing worship songs. If you felt led to say something you would just stand up, find an interrupter, get everyone’s attention, and share what God has told you to. The day we did this was also one of the biggest Hindu holidays. So everyone was going to this temple. So we couldn’t ride all the way around the city, we had to walk some of it. But as soon as we got off the bus, people started coming up to us for prayer. It got a little crazy because everyone started crowding around us. It reminded me of how I have read in the bible that people would just surround Jesus. However, we had to leave as the crowd was continuing to grow and was becoming dangerous. Another morning me and two girls from my squad got to go to the slums and teach at the school there. We got to sing, dance, share who we are, and read a bible story to them. Another day, we split up into different groups. My group went into a big city called Tamel. There we were going to hang out with the street kids but they were not in there usual hang out spot. So our ministry contact person with us told us to spilt up into smaller groups and go through the city and pray, if we seen a street kid stop and hang out with them. So me and 3 other people went out and prayed God would lead us to the street kids. We were walking around and there were none to be seen. I was getting a little frustrated with that and hungry ha. The girls were hungry to so we decided to go get a snack at a bakery we had been to before. While we were there we recognized one of the locals we knew outside. One of the girls went outside to talk to her. I was inside and bought myself a pizza wrap and bought some cookies. At the container Katie, one of the girls in my group, asked why I was buying cookies too. I told her, “We are finding some street kids today and by gah-lee I will give them these cookies.”  After checking out we went outside were Myia, the local lady, was. Myia asked us what we were doing. We told her and she began to tell us we would not find any of the kids out today BUT she then told us she would take us to where they stayed. Long story short we went to the house they stayed at and I got to give them the cookies I bought. We also got to share more about Christ to Myia and I gave her the book of John in her language. Inside it I wrote her a note I felt like God wanted me to tell her. She was really happy that it was in her language. The girls even talked her into coming to church with one of them that Sunday! It was definitely a great day.  Another day of ministry was called faith day. Faith day is about going out with no food, water, money, anything and just depending on God to provide. We also were suppose to get out of the city we were in and go to a different one. That was a tough one because we had no money to get anywhere. But we met a man who ended up hanging out with us all day! He bought us food, a ride into and out if the city, gave us tea, and even took us to his friends house to spend some time there. It was a great day. We were able just to hang out with him and make him feel loved. He had told us he didn’t have many friends, so it was a blessing he didn’t have to spend the day alone. There are many other days of ministry but everyday revolved around evangelism. This is just some of what we did.
