This past month has been great! The most exciting part about it was the unexpected surprise we had once we got into the country. Once we landed we found out our entire squad would be together for the first month. I absolutely love my team, but it has been great getting to know everyone on the squad and spending time with them as well. However, with the entire squad together the organization we are working with had to plan a lot of different stuff for us to do.
Ministry looks different everyday. We have done:
• construction work at a hospital
• cut paths in the forest with machetes
• helped in the kitchen preparing food for all of us
• helped at a children’s crusade where over 2,200 village kids attended
• packaged blankets and books to deliver to various villages and schools
• plan and host a VBS at a church
• teaching in a seminary
• preaching in churches, and even more.
There has been one day the team has gone out with some doctors into a village to help them do free screenings in one of the villages and giving medicine to those in need. In order to get the screening done the person had to go into a church and let one of us talk to them about Jesus and pray over them for healing or whatever they needed prayer for. This was way out of my comfort zone and most people here don’t understand my English anyway because of my accent. I was nervous. I did not want to be one of the people in the church praying and talking to the sick individuals. What if I said the wrong things? My team leader asked me to and I was like, “I don’t know.” Then she was like, “No, you’re doing it.” So I did. I prayed I would get believers and I would just be able to pray over them. Instead, every person I talked to and prayed over were Hindu. I had to rely on the Spirit to give me the right words to say. And the Spirit did! I got out of my comfort zone and let the Spirit lead me. Through that I learned it was time I trust God and myself more.
Just through the first month my team and squad have been able to help so many and encourage believers. I am excited about what is in the future. The next country is Nepal! One of the countries I am most excited about! But I still need to meet my next deadline of $11,000 by March 28th. I need $2,600 to meet that.
PRAYERS!
• To meet my next deadline.
• To yield to the Holy Spirit.
• Protection over me, my team, and squad physically and spiritually.
