Dear Friends, Family, Supports and anyone reading this,
The World Race is crazy! I want to formally..well kind of informally..apologizes for my lack of blogging and updates from the field. Like I said, the World Race is crazy (wink face)! Sooo… Here is a quick update (smiley face)!
Okay so here is the deal, The last blog you read was about our time in South Africa teaching sex ed at a local high school (if you haven’t, then read it after this)… Well, a lot has happened since then.. like almost a month and a half worth of stuff. Such as, scooping up horse poop on a horse ranch in the South African sun for hours. We were “privileged” with the opportunity to serve at a local horse ranch by scooping poop and painting fence post…also by assisting some horse breeding (don’t worry, I’ll spare you the details). While in South Africa we also got to build some great relationship with the workers at a local coffee shop, we got to serve in the youth service at a local church (Shout of to Victory Church Jbay) and we made great friends! We got to visit Cape Town, jump off the highest bungee jump bridge in the world, hang out on the beach, cliff jump and explore Table Mountain! That pretty much sums up my time in South Africa. So let me tell you about Vietnam!
“Good morning Vietnam!” We were presented with the opportunity to teach english at an english club; the english club was held in a local coffee shop in Da Nang, Vietnam! We taught private classes, we hosted table discussions every night for the students to practice their english through basic conversation and on Saturday we had music night and karaoke! It is amazing how passionate the people of Vietnam are about practicing and learning english. One night we decided to go out by the river as a team and out of nowhere a group of Vietnamese student ran up to us just to get help with english. We spent about 30 minutes helping students with conversational english that night. A few students accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior and one was even baptized on the beach. Vietnam is a closed country so publicly sharing the gospel is illegal, which made it kind of difficult to tell people about Jesus. But He made a way for it to happen! We got to go ice skating, hang out on the beach and try some tradition Vietnamese foods. Our time in Vietnam was so much fun and despite the language barrier we made some awesome friends.
After leaving Vietnam and arriving to Cambodia we had our month four debrief with our leadership (mentor, coaches and squad leaders). During debrief I rested A LOT! I learned from our first debrief that naps are very necessary and rest is important! But other than all the naps and rest, we had teachings from leadership, we had prayer and worship and opportunity for adventure. During our last day of debrief we were assigned our new squad leaders and team members and we had a fun scavenger hunt that we had to film with our new teams (link below). Unfortunately, we also had to say goodbye to some squad mates and one of our squad leaders because they had to go home or chose to go home.
I also lost my Nikon D3200 DSLR Camera and AF-S NIKKOR 50mm F/1.8G Lens so that sucks…
(hint: Christmas is coming up…wink)
Well, that pretty much sums up all that has happened in the past month or so. Stay on the look out for more blogs and videos to come!
Sincerely,
Dylan Paul Weaver

Acts 20:24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the race of God.
