Having a 6 hour taxi ride to debrief, a time of rest and spiritual formation we do as a squad, gave me a lot of time to think and reflect on the past month I had.
Just thinking about what I did, saw, and encountered makes me just sit in awe at what I am a part of.
The only way I can get all the info out will be to do it in a list format.
•played with kids and congratulated then as they crossed a finish line
•taught high school geography
•talked about America politics (because apparently it’s like a soap opera for the rest of the world)
•was able to grow with my team and dive deeper into community that reflects the trinity
•swam in the Indian Ocean
•learned how to make traditional pup and chokoloka
•re-found my passion for cooking, being able to learn from the locals and cook for my team gave me a way to talk to them and serve my team well
•got hit with a wifi limit of 100 mb at a time, big struggle, but made us spend more time together than being stuck glued to our phones
•go to go into a mountain village preachool, I played with them and was able to pray for the caretakers (2 women 25 kids, only a little bit of funding, in a small two room house)
•got to learn about the culture from the perspective of many different people.
-the locals of Port Saint Johns
-the teachers, some were from other African countries, Ghana and Zimbabwe, so I got to learn pieces of those cultures as well
-drunk racist white men stopping us on the way back from the beach because they wanted to know where mark got his beard from
-the guys who we lived with gave us the most information and an awesome experience.
•got to share a house with 4 girls, and 6-12 guys at any given day or time
•great talks and discussions with our ministry host Solomon
•continued to grow in my relationship with The Lord
•he continually showed me his heart for me, and that his plans are better than mine
This was a mish mash list of things and the stories I can tell will be endless from this month alone.
But I still need help to continue on to the next 10 countries. I am $2,100 away and I need it by February 29th.
Help this journey continue. Be apart of me being an advocate for people experiencing the love and truth of the gospel.
(Btw because of my limited wifi my blogs are written and then I have to wait to post them.)
Now time to go and share the Gospel in Gaborone, Botswana.
